Aim
Radio, cinema and especially television are the most influential tools on all societies around the world. The numbers of employees in these fields are increasing day by day. Our department aims to graduate qualified students who can actively contribute in every segment of mass media fields. Our education’s main objective is to help our students to gain technical skills and also educate them as knowledgeable, responsible, decent citizens who can percepts today’s world and knows ethics of media and cinema fields.

Target
Our department’s target is educating a student;

Who has universal values,
Who can think pluralist and critically,
Who knows how to make scientific researches and uses the knowledge effectively,
Who can apply contemporary education methods in his/her studies,
Who can be future academician in the guidance of NEU Radio-TV-Cinema Department’s academician staff,
Who will apply virtually vocational ethics and become an example for the followers.

Message from the Chairperson of Department:
Near East University, Faculty of Communication, Department of Radio-TV-Cinema comes forth as a department that renewing its education methods and contents due to innovative mass communication tools and technologies in the world. Mass media is a remarkable field and it has a potential to inspire and convert the society. The Department of Radio-TV-Cinema accepts information technologies as a basic principle which society requires and embraces with innovation and pioneering conceptions.

To become successful media professionals in this field, students will establish a general knowledge by learning theoretical approaches on mass communication tools. Therefore providing an opportunity for practicing their knowledge is also an important matter.

The Department of Radio-TV-Cinema presents to its students an education based on theoretical fundamentals. In the meantime with professionally equipped NEU FM and NEU TV which located in Faculty of Communication building, students will be able to test their knowledge in practical areas. Also the department achieved to graduate many successful cinema students which won numerous awards in film festivals. The short films which produced in this department had been screened in multiple countries, international festivals and also in television channels.

NEU Department of Radio-TV-Cinema succeed to organized various activities, symposiums, conferences, film screenings with its dynamic and experienced academic staff. Therefore the department had published articles on national and international journals (Thomson Reuters Web of Science SSCI, SCI Expanded, AHCI, ESCI, Scopus and so on).

We can clearly presume as a department that our students, who have the honor of being a part of Near East University, will be our representatives as successful members of media and cinema fields.
