Purpose of the Department
Radio, cinema, and television are among the most influential mass communication tools shaping and transforming societies today. In this context, the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema at Near East University aims to educate qualified, well-equipped, and versatile communication professionals capable of taking on various roles in the media industry, particularly in radio and
television broadcasting.

The education provided not only equips students with technical skills but also ensures that they develop into well-informed, socially responsible individuals with strong ethical values, critical thinking abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of the world.

The Department continuously updates its curriculum in line with rapid advancements in communication technologies. The innovations implemented during the 2024–2025 academic year have further strengthened its practice-oriented and technology-driven educational vision.

Within this scope:
• The infrastructure of NEU TV and NEU FM has been enhanced to provide students with professional broadcasting experience.
• The Perspective Digital Newspaper enables students to actively participate in digital journalism and content production processes.
• The curriculum has been updated with artificial intelligence-based courses, integrating contemporary digital media competencies into the education process.
• Course contents are continuously revised through ongoing collaboration with media industry stakeholders, ensuring that education remains dynamic and up-to-date.

Physical Infrastructure and Practical Opportunities
The Department offers not only theoretical education but also practice environments that closely resemble real industry conditions:

• NEU TV: Professional television production environment
• NEU FM: Radio broadcasting practice platform
• Digital publishing platforms and Perspective Digital Newspaper
• Studios and editing laboratories
