Lecturer Zeyde YALINER ÖREK

She was born on 26.9.1984 in Mehmetçik. He studied at Mehmetçik Primary School (1990-1996), Mehmetçik Secondary School (1996-1998), Namık Kemal High School (1998-2001). In 2001, she graduated from Near East University Faculty of Communication, Department of Journalism in 2005 as the first in the department and faculty.

Zeyde Yalıner Örek worked as an intern at Kıbrıs Newspaper between July 1, 2003 and September 30, 2003 as an inside and outside news reporter and photojournalist during her university education.

Örek completed her internship training at the High Council of Broadcasting between July 13, 2004 and August 24, 2004.

Zeyde Yalıner Örek exhibited her photography works at the 3rd International Photography Days organized by Near East University between May 7-9, 2003.

Örek worked as the Coordinator of Near East TV between 2005 and 2012. Between 2012 and 2018, she worked as the director of Near East TV.

Örek has many documentary films that have been shown in national and international film festivals and television channels. "Ahde Vefefa- Hope Road Erenköy -2014", "Last Women of the Word: Bedia Hanım -2017" documentary films are some of them.

She is a member of the Organizing Committee of the International Cinema Symposium, which has been held continuously since 2020, and is also on the organizing committee of the International NEU Short Film and Photography Competition.

Örek has served as a jury in many national and international film and documentary film festivals.

Zeyde Yalıner Örek's book "The Effects of Pre-1974 Turkish Cinema on the Cyprus Struggle" was published in 2014 through Lambert Academic Publishing (LAP Publishing House), an international publishing house.

Örek is currently a full-time lecturer at the Faculty of Communication of Near East University.
