Coordinator of Double Major Program
Assistant Prof. Dr. Kamil Kanıpek completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Cyprus. He continued his undergraduate, master's and doctorate education at Girne American University, Faculty of Communication, Department of Public Relations, worked as a Research Assistant in the Master's program, and graduated as an honor student with a scholarship in his undergraduate and master's education.
He completed his doctoral education with his doctoral thesis on "Popular Culture in New Generation Marriage Programs on Television" and after receiving his doctorate degree, he continued his academic career in the Public Relations department of GAU Faculty of Communication. Meanwhile, he served as the head of the New Media Department and the Faculty Social and Scientific Activities coordinator. In the same years, he worked as a advisor in the public relations student club and other social clubs for a period of time.
Kanipek, has scientific publications in international refereed academic journals. Kanıpek also has books and book chapters published by international publishing houses. Kanıpek, who also serves as a referee in many international scientific journals, takes part in the Scientific Board of the International Social Sciences Symposium, which is held every year.
Kanıpek, who continues to work as a lecturer at Near East University, Faculty of Communication, teaches courses in the Department of Public Relations. Academic research areas include popular culture, media and cultural studies, communication in organizations, organizational behavior, human resources management, crisis management studies in public relations.
