Savas Gungor was born in Nicosia, Cyprus. In 2014, Gungor graduated as the top student in his class in the department of Visual Communication Design of Communication Faculty at NEU (Near East University).  ​ From 2015 to 2020, he worked as a research assistant in the department of Visual Communication Design at NEU.
In 2017, Gungor achieved his Master’s degree from the department of Fine Arts and Design at NEU. In 2020, he achieved his PhD degree from the department of Media and Communication at NEU.

Gungor has participated in many local projects and exhibitions. He participated in many national exhibitions in the 2020 academic year. Winning the EU scholarship for research and English language, he attended the English in Cyprus and Bayswater College for a period of three months.

He has started lecturing at Near East University, Faculty of Communication from 2020 onwards as a lecturer in Visual Communication Design department and is also the Coordinator of Computer Assisted Design & Animation Program and Coordinator of Visual Communication Program.

He is a married.
