Oshan ULUŞAN

Oshan Ulusan was born in 1993 in Nicosia.  He graduated from Near East College in 2011.  In 2011, he started his education in the Department of International Relations at Near East University.  After 2 years, he switched to the field of Communication sciences, which is his main passion, and in 2017, he graduated from Near East University Journalism Department with the first place in the faculty.

At the end of the same year, he started his education in the Media and Communication Studies Master’s Program and continued his education in the field of communication at NEU. He completed his master’s degree in 2019 with a degree of high honour by defending his thesis titled “An Inquiry for the Other: Identity, Conflict and the Surlariçi”

He started his doctorate education in communication sciences right after his graduate. In the same year, he started teaching at Near East University Faculty of Communication, Department of Journalism.

Currently, he continues to teach journalism lessons at the Near East University Faculty of Communication, Department of Journalism as part-time, while also continuing his PhD studies.

In addition to his academic life, he worked as a short-term editor and proofreader in various magazines and internet news sites both in Turkey and abroad.

His fields of work include media and politics relations, data journalism, and new media studies
